Grocery Cart Tracker
While working at WRAL.com (2006-2008) I was commissioned to build an interactive graphic that would display current and past grocery prices as well as prices over time. WRAL collects the data from local stores which gets entered into a database which drives this Grocery Cart Tracker. This was a lot of fun to build, because it was a mix of pretty heavy coding and a fun-to-design front end. Particularly fun was making the receipts from an actual photo of adding machine paper, then cutting the photo into pieces so it can dynamically stretch to fit the correct height based on number of items.
